Meet the Author

Hi There!

My name is Philip Johnston. Born and bred in Bangor, County Down, I now live on the Ards Peninsula with my wife and family. I spent much of my childhood between Bangor and Killyleagh, so I am quite familiar with the places and landscapes of the story.

 

It has been a privilege and a blessing to have lived in North Down and raise my family on the Ards Peninsula, alongside beautiful Strangford Lough. Since a young boy , I have enjoyed exploring and visiting historical sites and surrounding landscapes, continuing to do so with my own children.

I could spend hours researching  stories and allowing the imagination to transform them into rhyme and illustrations, such as the story of Daft Eddie.

My children have been a huge part of this journey and have joined me on this literary adventure in so many different ways. It is to them, and all future generations of young people, I entrust the wonderful story of Daft Eddie!

I would encourage anyone, whatever you may be doing in life right now, to try and allow yourself additional time to pursue personal interests, develop talents and explore new ventures, perhaps achieving and fulfilling more than you could have ever imagined!
